Mexico, Missouri Native Ellen Withers’ Mystery Novel A Double Award Finalist

Scrivenings Press announced last week that Mexico, Missouri native Ellen E. Withers’ first mystery is a double finalist in the American Christian Fiction Writers Carol Awards for 2024.

Show Me Betrayal was chosen as one of the top three entries in the Mystery/Suspense/Thriller category and in the Debut Novel category.

The setting of the series is Mexico, Missouri, and Show Me Betrayal is the first book of the series.

American Christian Fiction Writers’ Carol Awards are ACFW’s recognition for the best Christian fiction published by traditional publishing houses or qualified independently published books in the previous calendar year.

Entry to this contest is open worldwide to Christian fiction that meets the publishing and Christian criteria.

The ACFW Writer’s Conference, held in New Orleans, Louisiana this year, will be the platform for announcing the winners of the contests in September.

As a finalist in both categories, Ellen will receive two silver pins.

Her book remains a contender for the Carol Award and a gold pin in the category of Mystery/Thriller/Suspense and in the Debut Novel category.

Winning editors will receive a certificate.

Ellen’s second book in the series, Show Me Deceit, released in May of this year.
