Extra troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be taking to the roads starting today (Wednesday) and running through Sunday for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Troopers are participating in Operation C.A.R.E. which stands for Crash Awareness and Reduction Effort.
The patrol will heavily target violations such as speeding, imprudent and aggressive driving.
Last year Thanksgiving week, there were a total of 400 crashes, and 15 people were killed.
