The Jefferson City Police Department has identified the victim of a homicide last night as the student body president at Lincoln University.
Police report the victim is 23 year old D’Angelo Bratton-Bland of Jefferson City.
Officers were called to a weapons offense in the 200 block of Dawson Street. As they were responding they observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on East McCarty Street. When the vehicle was stopped, police found 4 males, one of which was Bratton-Bland, with a gunshot wound.
He was taken to Capital Region Medical Center before being transferred to University Hospital in Columbia where he was pronounced dead.
The others in the vehicle are cooperating in the investigation.
