Montgomery County Skeletal Remains Identified As Missing Woman

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed partial skeletal remains located off a property on Highway E, 6 and a half miles northeast of Bellflower on Saturday are those of a woman reported missing in 2016.

According to the department, the remains were collected by Montgomery County Coroner David Colbert and transported to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office where Susette Benhardt was identified by dental records.

The Sheriff’s office is continuing their search of the area to locate the rest of Benhardt’s remains.

Benhardt was last seen arguing with her husband on June 22, 2016. He was later found dead in a vehicle near where Benhardt’s remains have been found. He died of an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.
