Man Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Crash in Cole County
Dixon man, Thomas Buttner, 35, was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash in Cole County Saturday afternoon. Buttner was on Old Bass Road and crested a hill while passing in a no-passing zone on a curve, left the road, and struck a fence. Buttner was life-flighted to University Hospital in Columbia.

Brick City Buffet Unexpectedly Closes Permanently
Popular eatery, Brick City Buffet, at 641 West Jackson Street in Mexico, abruptly closed permanently on Sunday. The building needs serious repairs that the restaurant owners could not justify financing in a building they only leased. After trying unsuccessfully several times to purchase the building, they reluctantly chose to close the restaurant.
