Prosecutor Would Not Have Charged Man In Death Of Activist
Boone County Prosecutor Dan Knight said in a letter today [Wednesday] the man who shot and killed Ahmonta Harris in November would not have been charged.
The letter outlines details surrounding the incident in which Deonte Gainwell shot Harris. Knight said evidence clearly shows Harris illegally entered the home of Gainwell, and Gainwell was within his rights to shoot him.
Gainwell was found shot to death in the 3700 block of Weymeyer Drive in Columbia on January 17.
