Judge Orders Sturgeon To Reinstate Former Police Chief

A judge is ruling that the city of Sturgeon must reinstate their former Chief of Police Greg Halderman.

According to court records the ruling was made on Friday by Circuit Judge Jeff Harris. He ruled that the city of Sturgeon did not comply with procedural requirements of a contested case when they removed Halderman from his position.

The Sturgeon city council fired Halderman in 2017 amidst allegations of alcohol abuse and inappropriate behavior.

Judge Harris also ordered Sturgeon to give Halderman back pay.
