Jefferson City Woman Pleading Guilty to Embezzling From Employer
A Jefferson City woman is pleading guilty to embezzling more than $65,000 from her employer.
According to court documents 47 year old Laura Lynn Winge waived her right to a grand jury yesterday (Thursday) and pleaded guilty to charges of one count of bank fraud and one count of theft from an employee benefit plan.
Winge worked as a bookkeeper for Turk’s Construction LLC, from 2009 until 2016.
Winge admitted she withheld $56,876 of the IRA plan deferral from employees’ payroll from January of 2013 to March of 2016, but never forwarded them to their individual accounts.
She is subject to a sentence of up to 35 years in federal prison without parole.
