Jefferson City Public Schools To Change Start Times

The Jefferson City Public Schools is announcing plans to move start times for their schools beginning next school year.

The new start times would have all the district’s elementary schools starting before secondary schools.

Parents and staff can vote on the specific times schools will open on the district’s Facebook Page.

The options for the new start times are having the elementary schools starting at either 7:40, 7:45, or 7:50, and then the secondary schools starting an hour later from each option.

The vote will serve as only a recommendation to the board on what time school should start.

The board will make their final decision at their meeting in March.
