Missouri Senators Split Vote On President’s Emergency Declaration At Southern Border

A split vote by Missouri Senators Roy Blunt and Josh Hawley yesterday (Thursday) on President Trumps declaration of a national emergency at the southern border.

Senator Blunt voted against Trump while Josh Hawley voted to support him.

In a statement, Blunt expressed concern about giving Trump and future presidents the power to use an emergency declaration to obtain funding.

In total 12 Republican senators joined all democrats to overturn President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border.
