MoDOT Works To Fix Potholes

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports they are on track to repair more potholes on Missouri roadways in 2019 than last year.

MoDOT’s focus on repairing potholes have led to the creation of around 300 patching crews statewide.

The crews have filled approximately 400 thousand potholes to date.  Last year, MoDOT repaired 619 thousand total.

Potholes are formed when temperatures warm up during the day but continue to be freeze at night, causing pavement to bulge and crack.

Crews are addressing the deepest potholes first.

Motorists can report the location of potholes on state maintained roads to MoDOT.
