The Mexico Bulldogs football team will host the Marshall Owls at Hawthorne Heights in Mexico on Friday, September 20, 2024.

It is Homecoming for the Bulldogs.

Mexico is 1-2 and Marshall is 0-3.

AM 1340 KXEO will be broadcasting the game live.

Pregame interview with Mexico head coach Steve Haag starts at 6:30 with kickoff at 7.

The Mexico High School girls softball team slugged it out with their rival Fulton in Fulton on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Mexico would get down 10-0 early in the game with the Lady Hornets scoring 3 in the first inning, 2 in the second, and 5 in the third.

The Lady Bulldogs started mounting a comeback with five runs in the fifth and tied the ball game with five more runs in the sixth inning.

Fulton would score in the 7th to win the ball game 11-10.

Mexico’s Hannah Loyd hit two home runs in the game and collected 4 RBI.

Aleigha Henderson had a three hit, four RBI night.

Alyssa Miller went 2-4 at the plate and scored two runs.

Landri Teel was 2-4 at the plate and scored two runs.

Mexico collected 10 hits in total for the game.

The Mexico High School girls tennis team hosted the Moberly Spartans on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Mexico lost 6-3.

Mexico head coach Kim Costley says “We had a competitive match with Moberly tonight.

We were able to close out 2 varsity doubles matches.

We have been focusing on doubles and we saw some much improved net play.

We have played 7 of the past 10 days including a tournament.

I was proud of the girls for battling as I know they are tired but they never wavered.

The JV team had some nice play and they are showing improvement weekly.”

The St. Louis Cardinals had their three game winning streak come to an end with a 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates at Busch Stadium on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Brendan Donovan went 4-4 at the plate including 2 RBI. Paul Goldschmidt scored two runs.

The Redbirds ended up taking 3 out of 4 games and won the series against the Pirates.

The New York Jets defeated the New England Patriots 24-3 on Thursday Night Football.

The Jets improved to 2-1, while the Patriots fell to 1-2.
