One person was arrested this afternoon [Thursday] following a police chase through Boone County.
Sergeant Scott White with the Missouri State Highway Patrol says a Boone County Deputy initiated a traffic stop just after 1:00 on Highway 63 and the driver failed to pull over.
A sergeant with the Highway Patrol saw the vehicle and engaged in a pursuit until the Highway Patrol’s Helicopter was able to track the vehicle.
The chase came to an end when the car slid into a ditch near the intersection of Route MM and Edwards Road. The driver fled on foot and was located a short distance away with the assistance of K9 units from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbia Police Department. The suspect was arrested without further incident.
