Columbia School Put On Short Lockdown

A Columbia school was briefly placed on a modified lockdown today [Wednesday] while police investigated a report of shots fired in the area.

Police were called just after noon to Madrid Lane and Sieville Avenue and found evidence shots had been fired due to damage to a vehicle.

Gentry Middle School was placed on lockdown for approximately 10 minutes according to Columbia Public School spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark. All the students were safe.
