A gas leak in Mexico this afternoon [Friday] led to the evacuation buildings in the area.
Mexico Public Safety says officers responded to the 100 block of East Promenade at around 12:42 in reference to a natural gas leak.
Responding personnel found that private contractors working in the area damaged a gas line on the block.
The block was closed to traffic and the affected buildings were evacuated and opened so gas would not accumulate.
