Richard Henry III Pleads Guilty To Voluntary Manslaughter And Waives Right To Jury Trial

The man accused in the fatal shooting of Leon Wilder III is pleading guilty and waiving his right to a jury trial in an Audrain County Courtroom this (Monday) morning.

Richard Henry III made a plea of guilty to the Class B Felony of Voluntary Manslaughter in front of Judge Scott Alan Hayes as part of a plea deal this (Monday) morning.

The guilty plea will carry no more than 26 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

The body of Leon Wilder III was found the afternoon of July 6th, 2017, in the 11000 Block of Audrain County Road 997 with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Three people have been charged in Wilder’s death, Justin Traughber Arline Diedrich and Henry.

Authorities say Henry shot Wilder.

Traughber was sentenced to 9 years in prison for drug trafficking in November last year.

Diedrich received a 10 year prison sentence for drug trafficking.

Henry has a sentencing date scheduled for June 24th at 9 am in an Audrain County courtroom.
