Eight people were transported to the hospital after a bus carrying the Belle High School Soccer Team crashed in Westphalia last night. [Friday]
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report indicates the accident occurred when 18 year old Caleb Hock of Jefferson City attempted to pass a vehicle on U.S. 63 and struck the bus driven by 54 year old Randy Hicks of Belle nearly head on.
Both Hicks and Hock were transported by air with moderate injuries, while 5 students and another adult female were transported by ambulance to University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
