3 Mexico Bulldogs will be advancing to the state track meet preliminaries next weekend.
Defending state champion in the long jump, Jasean White is the sectional champion at 22’7.
He will be joined by 3rd place high jumper Raef Yager who leaped to a personal best of 6’2.
On the girls side Jennifer Jacobi will be advancing after a third place finish in the long jump with a 16’6 performance.
Jasean White with a 5th place finish in the 100 at 11.1, Moenaisa Sidique was 5th in the 400 at 1:00. 86.
And the grils 4×400 team of Sidique, Riley Thurman, Grace Wortman and Kierra Jackson came in 6th place with a season best of 4:21.
The State track meet is being held at Pete Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City beginning this Friday, May 24th.
Mexico, Missouri native Brooke Costley is being named Assistant Coach for the North Dakota State women’s basketball team.
Costley has spent the last 2 seasons as a graduate assistant at Emporia State.
She also spent 2 years as a coach in the Missouri Phenom AAU program.
Brooke is a 2013 graduate of the Mexico High School and is the daughter of Mexico Girls basketball head coach and assistant coach Ed and Kim Costley.
The Missouri Tiger softball team season now over after losing to the UCLA Bruins in the NCAA Tournament.
The Tigers took the first game 5-1.
The second and deciding game in the tournament was a 13-1 loss.
Mizzou finishes the season with a 35-25 record under first year head coach Larissa Anderson.
The Missouri Tigers baseball team are getting ready for the SEC Tournament this week.
The Tigers are the number 10 seed in the SEC Tournament and will play the 7seed Ole Miss tomorrow (Tuesday).
The St. Louis Blues are just one game away from advancing to the Stanley Cup Final after shutting the San Jose Sharks 5-0 in game 5 of the Western Conference Final yesterday (Sunday).
Jaden Schwartz had a hat trick for the Blues. Jordan Binnington made 21 saves for his first Stanley Cup Playoff shutout.
The Blues who are 7-2 on the road in the playoffs this year have now set their single season record with 11 playoff wins.
