Tornado Confirmed in Callaway County

The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down near the small Callaway County town of Yucatan yesterday [Tuesday] evening.

The tornado touched down near county roads 170 and 171, destroying a barn and damaging several trees.

The tornado widened to approximately 250 yards before lifting near Prairie Fork Creek.

The tornado has been labeled as an EF-1, with wind speeds of around 100 miles per hour, and was on the ground for just over a half a mile.
