Jefferson City Mayor Orders Evacuation
Jefferson City Mayor Carrie Tergin announced a mandatory evacuation order for all areas north of the Missouri River today [Wednesday] due to impending flooding.
The order will go into effect at 5:00 and will continue until it is lifted by Tergin or the city council.
The area closed to all but local traffic at 3:00.
Tergin also declared a state of emergency within the city until further notice.
The river is expected to crest at 32.4 feet by Friday morning.
