Judge Deliberating Planned Parenthood’s Request

A St. Louis Judge is now deciding whether to grant an order allowing Missouri’s only abortion clinic to keep its license past Friday.

Judge Michael Stelzer listened to arguments on Planned Parenthood’s request for a temporary restraining order preventing the state from allowing clinic’s license to lapse.

The Missouri Health Department cited concerns of patient safety and legal violations.

If the judge denies Planned Parenthood’s request, Missouri would be the first state without a functioning abortion clinic since the 1973 Roe V. Wade Supreme Court decision.
