MU Considering Selling Alcohol At Sports Stadiums After Revisions To SEC Policy

The Southeastern Conference is announcing changes to the existing alcohol policy that will go into effect in August.

The SEC made the announcement last week after approving revisions that previously prohibited athletic programs from selling alcohol in public areas of athletic venues.

The University of Missouri has not announced whether or not it will sell alcohol in its sports stadiums.

MU Chancellor Alexander N. Cartwright and Athletic Director Jim Sterk have released a joint statement saying in part that “Our guiding principle in any decision will be maintaining the safety of our fans, student-athletes and staff while creating an atmosphere that reflects our institutional values.”
