Take off the interim tag for Craig Berube as the St. Louis Blues signed him to a three year contract as their head coach yesterday (Tuesday).
Berube had been the interim coach since taking over for Mike Yeo on November 19th and then led the franchise to it’s first ever Stanley Cup Championship.
Berube led the last place Blues on an 11 game win streak in January and February to position them for the playoffs where they beat the Jets, Stars and Sharks, and then the Boston Bruins for the Stanley Cup.
The details of the new contract will be discussed during a news conference today (Wednesday).
The St. Louis Cardinals dropped a game to the Oakland A’s 7-3 last (Tuesday) night at Busch Stadium.
The home run ball plagued Redbirds starting pitcher Jack Flaherty.
It was a 6 run sixth inning for Oakland.
Flaherty has allowed nine home runs in his last five starts, with his era sitting at 7.01 for the month of June.

Royals third baseman Hunter Dosier blasted his first career grand slam in the ninth inning off Indians closer Brad Hand who had previously been perfect in 22 save opportunities.
