New Law Could Mean Fewer Vehicle Inspections

New legislation signed today [Wednesday] by Missouri Governor Mike Parson means fewer vehicle inspections in the state.

The law, which goes into effect August 28, says vehicles less than 10 years old or with less than 150 thousand miles on the odometer will not need to be inspected.

The current law requires inspections every other year for vehicles 5 years or older.

Researchers estimate that approximately 1.1 million vehicles will not longer need to be inspected every other year under the new rule.
