The St. Louis Cardinals brought out their big bats in a 14-8 rout of the Pittsburgh Pirates last (Wednesday) night.

Andrew Knizner hit his first career home run.

Paul Goldscmidt said see you later to tater again, and it was Paul DeJong who hit not one, not two, but three home runs.

The Redbirds put up nine runs in the second inning.

They go for a series sweep against the Buckos this (Thursday) afternoon.

The Kansas City Royals completed a two game sweep on the road against the Atlanta Braves last (Wednesday) night winning 2-0.

Royals starting pitcher Brad Keller dominated over seven innings and Ian Kennedy came into the game to close picking up his 19th save.

The Royals improved to 9-3 since the All-Star break.

Marc Savard Blues Coaching Staff

The St. Louis Blues are announcing they have hired former Boston Bruins center Marc Savard as a member of their NHL coaching staff for next season.

Savard posted 706 points in 807 regular season games during his 13 year NHL career.

He played for the Rangers, Flames, Thrashers and Bruins.

Blues head coach Craig Berube and Savard were teammates during their playing days.

Berube said “I’m very familiar with his passion and acumen for the game.”
