Washed Out Road Leads To Two Callaway Crashes

Two people sustained minor injuries this morning [Monday] after driving on a road washed out by flooding.

The first incident occurred when 55 year old Karen Struttmann of Rhineland was traveling on Route K at 8:23 when the road gave way at Creek Crossing. Her vehicle sank into the ground.

Nine minutes later a truck driven by 46 year old Jason Powers of Fulton was traveling on the same road and the pick-up came to rest on top of Struttmann’s vehicle.

Struttman was out of the car before Powers’ vehicle landed on top of it.

Powers was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by ambulance.

Struttman was taken to Boone Hospital by family members.
