Columbia Man Now Faces Federal Charges

A Columbia man arrested in May is now facing federal charges for possessing child pornography.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol began investigating Nathaniel Irvin in February after he allegedly downloaded the pornography from an internet site. They were able to link the video to an IP address on Northampton Drive.

Irvin ran unsuccessfully against Representative Vicky Hartzler in 2014 for the 4th Congressional District seat.

He was the campaign manager for 2018 Democratic candidate Renee Hoagenson until he was charged with driving while intoxicated in October 2017. He is currently on probation for that charge.

If convicted, Irvin faces up to 20 years in prison.
