The early portion of youth firearm deer season is complete and the Missouri Department of Conservation is reporting young hunters have harvested more than 18 thousand deer.
In Audrain County 151 deer were taken over the weekend, 202 in Boone, 193 in Monroe County, 238 were harvested in Montgomery County, 176 in Ralls County, 185 in Randolph and 312 in Callaway County.
The top harvests in the state were in Osage County with 381 deer, Howell with 355 and Franklin with 351.
Last year’s harvest total was just over 13,600.
