St. Louis Cardinals skipper Mike Shildt is Major League Baseball’s National League Manager of the Year.
The announcement was made last (Tuesday) night.
Shildt, wins the award in his first full season as a manager, leading the Cardinals to their first postseason appearance since 2015.
St. Louis was 44-44 at the All-Star break this year but went 47-27 in the 2nd half to the win the National League Central.
The American League Manager of the Year award went to Minnesota Twins skipper Rocco Baldelli.
At 38, Baldelli is baseball’s youngest manager and led the Twins to 101 wins and the AL Central crown in his debut season.
Mizzou Men’s Basketball fell on the road to the 21st ranked Xavier Musketeers in overtime, 63-58 last (Tuesday) night.
Redshirt junior guard Dru Smith put together a career performance.
He led all scorers with 22 points and added a career high 10 rebounds to secure his first career double-double.
Mizzou returns home Monday to take on Wofford.
