One In Custody For Jefferson City Double Homicide

A Jefferson City resident is in custody after two homicides in two separate locations in Jefferson City last night. [Thursday]

Jefferson City Police report they responded at around 6:00 to the 1300 block of West McCarty Street for an injured subject. Upon arrival, officers found a 17 year old male dead from an apparent gunshot wound inside the home.

At approximately 8:44, Jefferson City Communications Center received multiple calls for shots being fired in the 2300 block of Southridge Drive. When crews arrived they found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds in the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Based on information from callers and witnesses a suspect was identified. While attempting to locate the suspect, a Jefferson City man walked into the lobby of the police station in black clothing and covered in blood.

During the initial interview, the 27 year old suspect implicated himself in both murders.

The names of the victims and suspect have not yet been released.
