Mexico residents will be asked to approve a 2 percent use tax during the April 7th General Election.
The Mexico City Council voted to put it the tax question on the April ballot at their meeting tonight (Monday).
The local use tax would be on products purchased online across state lines.
The sales tax in the city will remain the same.
If voters approve the tax it is expected to generate about $150,000 annually and the funds would go to toward the city pool, and Fairgrounds park.
