Mexico Public Works is preparing for the impending winter weather this weekend.
According to Director of Public Works Kensey Russell, city crews have been out cleaning debris out of storm sewer drains and grates and low spots where water is known to pond on the roadway.
With rain expected ahead of the snow and ice event, pre-treating of the roadways won’t be possible.
Russell says the city has plenty of salt and cinders on hand.
With possible ice accumulation and high winds, downed limbs could become a road obstruction.
If residents notice clogged storm sewers or limbs blocking the roadway, Russell says to call the city at 581-2100.
