Mexico Trash Rates To Increase In April

Mexico residents will see a thirty four cent increase on their trash bill beginning April 1st.

The rates were set for a 12 month beginning April 1st at last night’s Mexico City Council Meeting.

Deputy City Manager Roger Haynes said the reason for the increase was that the fund balance to cover sanitation services needed to be $625,610 and to meet that the increase was needed.

The new rate will be $12.13 per month with a maximum fuel increase cap at $12.92 per month.

The increase amounts to a 2.88% increase and for the fuel cap to be reached, diesel fuel would have to rise to $6.00 per gallon.
