A Mexico Middle School Teacher is testing positive for COVID-19.
According to an email from the school district the employee is not a resident of Audrain County and is a Callaway County resident and is following recommendations, the employee has self-quarantined for 14 days.
The Audrain County Health Department has just received notification of a potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus involving the Mexico Middle during its last 2 days of classes on Thursday and Friday.
Mexico Middle school says it has exercised extreme caution during the last week of school to proactively implement safety practices to prevent COVID-19.
The school says it understandably knows that parents and staff will be concerned about the potential exposure for themselves and their children.
They recommend to stay at home until you have spoken with your healthcare provider.
