Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service yesterday (Tuesday):
An abandoned vehicle at South Clark.
A suspicious person on North Clark.
Shop lifting at 4820 South Clark and at 1101 West Monroe.
A report of child abuse or neglect at Hardin Park.
Mexico Public Works is reporting a street closure this week due to sewer repairs. On Thursday, December 27th and Friday, December 28th, South Morris Street will be closed between Wilmar and Frances street. Detour signs will be placed in the area while the work is being completed.
Discarded smoking materials is the cause of a Columbia residential fire yesterday (Sunday) afternoon. Columbia Fire Department went to a house at 1701 Cliff Drive just after 2:30. All of the occupants of the house were home at the time of the fire and escaped safely. About twenty thousand dollars in damages is being reported.
The United States Postal Service is investigating how mail for a Hallsville neighborhood ended up in a church dumpster.
