Former Mizzou defensive lineman Aldon Smith will reportedly return to the NFL this year.
According to FOX Sports, Smith inked a one year deal worth 2 million dollars guaranteed and an additional 2 million dollars in incentives.
Smith has not played in the NFL since 2015 due to multiple arrests including drug charges and a false bomb threat at an airport, and the deal hinges on NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reinstating him into the league.
Mizzou Football head coach Eli Drinkwitz is pressing onward despite not knowing whether the upcoming college season will unfold as planned.
Coach Drinkwitz held a press conference yesterday (Wednesday) on Zoom and said there is no hard deadline in his mind when practices need to resume to get a full season in.
Missouri held only 3 spring practices before the rash of cancellations due to the coronavirus.
The coach says while practicing social distancing he has tried to stay in constant contact with staff, current players and recruits within the new guidelines.
Mizzou’s season opener is currently scheduled for September 5th at Faurot Field.
