Overnight Grease Fire In Kitchen At Mexico House Causes Damage

Damage reported to a Mexico home in the 1400 block of North Western after a fire early this (Wednesday) morning.

Mexico Public Safety says responding personnel found the fire in the kitchen, located at the back of the home.

It caused significant fire damage to the kitchen and moderate smoke and heat damage to the rest of the home.

According to Mexico Public Safety it was determined that someone staying in the home was heating grease on the stovetop, and the grease caught fire.

The person threw a handful of flour at the flame; however it was not enough to put the flames out.

All residents exited the home and there were no injuries from the incident.
