Mexico Elementary School Handling Positive COVID-19 Case In Student

The Hawthorne Elementary School in Mexico is handling a positive case of COVID-19 in a student.

In a letter sent out to parents yesterday (Monday) the schools principal Alison Evans said she had to make calls to parents and inform them that per the Audrain County Health Department an entire classroom needed to be in quarantine, due to being considered a close contact to someone that had tested positive for the virus.

The quarantine will run until September 23rd and the class can return to in-person learning on September 24th.
