The North Callaway School District is addressing claims of bullying following a student’s death last week.
In a letter sent to parents last (Monday) night the district said any death is tragic, however several social media posts are erroneously claiming the district doesn’t have a bullying policy.
The letter goes on to state that another student bullied the deceased student.
According to the district that student and the deceased student did have a fight that both participated in over 2 and 1/2 weeks ago.
Both of the students were punished, and the district says the fight was not related to the loss of life.
The district is asking everyone to let the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department complete their investigation out of respect for family and students.
