The Mexico Bulldogs defeated the Fulton Hornets 49 to 28 tonight (Friday) to win their 8th consecutive Highway 54 Bowl.
It was back and forth in the first quarter.
Ty Prince would strike first with a quarterback keep and 41 yard rush into the end zone giving Mexico a 7-0 lead at the 9:53 mark in the first quarter.
Fulton would answer back on a 15 yard touchdown pass from Courtland Simmons to Gohring Walker making it 7-7.
The Dogs would regain the lead with a Dante Billups 36 yard touchdown run in the 2nd quarter making the score 14-7 Mexico.
Fulton then had a 3 yard rushing touchdown from Josh Reams.
The Hornets would miss the extra point and Mexico maintained a 14-13 lead with 4 minutes and 27 seconds to go until halftime.
Ty Prince would get his second rushing touchdown of the night with just a little over a minute to go to half, making it 21-13 Bulldogs.
Mexico’s defense would come up with a fumble recovery on Fulton’s next drive.
The Dawgs would take over on the 20 and Ty Prince would cap off the drive for his 3rd rushing touchdown of the first half.
Mexico would take a 21-13 lead into halftime.
The Bulldogs dominated the second half including this 60 yard rushing touchdown from Dante Billups which is your Jackson Drug/Webber Pharmacy play of the game.

Dante Billups finished the game with 229 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. Ty Prince put up 80 yards on the ground and 3 td’s. Michael White with 55 yards and score.
Mexico improved to 3-2 on the year and 2-1 in the North Central Missouri Conference.
It’s homecoming next Friday against the Kirksville Tigers.
