The population and average annual salary in the City of Mexico remained about the same from a year ago.
Russell Runge assistant city manager updated numbers at tonight’s (Monday) Mexico City Council meeting and says despite the COVID-19 issue going on it was a fairly decent year.
Mexico’s population in 2019 is 11,397 which was down by 225 from the previous year.
The average wage in Audrain County in 2019 was $37,289 which went up from $34,592 in 2018.
In comparison to other county wages Callaway was at $48,100. Randolph County was at $38,711. And Monroe was at $30,142.
The average annual wage in Mexico in 2019 was $17.93.
Unemployment in Mexico in October of this year was at 3% and the unemployment rate in Mexico peaked at 10.3% during the months of April and May due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
