The Mexico Bulldogs Boys Basketball Team is now just one win away from a Final Four appearance after defeating Kearney 55-49 on the road in the first round of the Sectional playoffs tonight (Tuesday).

Junior point guard Isaiah Reams hit a major milestone in the first quarter reaching 1,000 points in high school career.

Reams would lead the Mexico in scoring with 20.

Mexico would get off to an 11-7 first quarter lead.

Mexico would lead Kearney 21-16 at halftime.

Kearney would outscore Mexico 15-12 in the third and took a one point lead early in the fourth quarter.

Mexico would battle back and outscore Kearney 22-18 in the fourth to move on to the quarterfinals of the Sectionals.

Raef Yager finished with 13 points.

Daeye Miller reached double digits with 12 points.

Mexico will face Van Horn on the road on Friday night with a 6pm.

KXEO will rebroadcast the game against Kearney on Thursday morning at 10.
