Election Results For Boone And Monroe County And Fulton

Centralia’s Mayor Chris Cox has won re-election after receiving 465 votes to Tim Grenke’s 209.

The Use Tax in Centralia was voted down 353-312 and the proposition to extend the term of mayor to 3 years has passed 408-266.

In Sturgeon Mike Butler won the mayor’s race with 61 votes to Danny Joiner’s 59, and the Ward 1 unofficially saw Steve Crosswhite finish ahead of Stan Robinson 38-37.

Almost 14% of Columbia residents voted in the general municipal election yesterday (Tuesday).

Katherine Sasser and Jeanne Snodgrass were elected to seats on the Columbia Public School Board of Education.

Three candidates faced off for the open Columbia City Council Second Ward seat.

Andrea Waner took the majority of votes to win election.

Betsy Peters was elected to the Sixth Ward election with 895 votes.

The 6 million dollar Boone County Fire District bond passed with 2,818 yes votes. The bond will pay for a number of items, such as land, renovations to fire stations and vehicles and replacements of some of the district’s vehicles.

Also in Boone County, voters approved a 7.7 million dollar bond for the Southern Boone School District with 881 votes.

The measure will add 28,000 square feet of instructional space and renovate 2 of the district’s buildings.

Mike West has won Fulton City Council’s Ward 1 and Lauren E.H. Nelson has won Ward 4.

Jacqueline Pritchett and Leah Williamson Baker are keeping their seats on the Fulton School Board.

In Monroe County there was a nearly 14% voter turnout yesterday with 2,153 ballots cast.

Proposition A passed with 495 yes votes.

Quentin T. Ashenfelter and Aaron Eckman were the 2 top vote getters and were elected to seats on the Paris R-II School Board.

Kelsey Shoemyer and Dean Land were elected to seats on the Madison C-3 School Board.
