Eugene Field Elementary School Title One Reading Teacher Sue Nixon is the latest recipient of a cash award presented by the Webber Pharmacy.
Nixon has been teaching for 21 years.
The $1,000 cash award from the Webber Pharmacy was matched by the Commerce Bank in Mexico and was presented to Nixon this (Tuesday) morning at the Eugene Field Elementary School.
The awards were started last year to honor the late Laurann Webber and the money was given to recognize the importance of teaching excellence of Mexico Public Schools.
Five teachers each year are awarded the money.
