Non-Compliant Sex Offender Numbers Are Going Down

A new report released by the Missouri Auditor’s Office today [Monday] shows the number of non-compliant sex offenders has decreased by 21% since last year’s review.

Auditor Nicole Galloway’s report from 2018 revealed 1,259 registered sex offenders failed follow a law requiring them to register and verify their address on a regular basis to law enforcement.

Galloway says the data gathered in the latest report suggests law enforcement officials have increased follow-up efforts with offenders who have not checked in.
