Overnight storms are to blame for several power outages reported in mid-Missouri counties.
The storms knocked KXEO’s sister station Mix Country 96, 95.7 FM off the air as lightning hit the tower site near Centralia.
It is now back on the air as of 6:30 this (Friday) morning.
More than 300 customers of Boone Electric Cooperative were without power shortly before 2 this morning.
According to Boone Electric, lightning likely hit a substation in western Boone County.
Crews were on the scene working on restoring the power.
Ameren Energy reported 180 customers lost power between Centralia and Hallsville.
Consolidated Electric reported a total of 220 customers without power, with 140 customers without power north of Centralia and 39 customers in Monroe County.
