Mexico Public Safety responded to 3 separate fire related calls over the weekend.
The first was on Saturday morning around 12:49 in the 600 block of South Abat.
Responding personnel found the back of a home burning.
The deck and siding of the home suffered significant fire damage, and was apparently caused by careless disposal of smoking material according to Public Safety.
No injuries were reported.
The 2nd fire happened yesterday (Sunday) afternoon, just before 2:30 in the 1700 block of East Anderson.
Responding personnel found that some area residents had been burning some items when the fire grew beyond their control due to the breezy, dry weather conditions.
The fire was put out with a couple of acres being burned and no personal property damaged.
There were no injuries from the incident.
The third fire happened last (Sunday) night just after 5:30 in the 5700 block of East Liberty where a lawnmower was engulfed in a flame.
The cause was likely due to debris around the exhaust of the lawnmower according to Public Safety.
There were no injuries reported.
