Mexico Bulldogs Football Team Lose In Tough Conference Battle Against Kirksville

The Mexico Bulldogs lost to the Kirksville Tigers 28-14 tonight (Friday) in high school football.

Kirksville scored on their first possession, driving the ball 74 yards.

It culminated in a 31 yard touchdown pass from Ike Danielson to Randon Baumgartner at 9:41 in the first quarter.

Kirksville would score again on their third possession in the first half on a 65 yard throw from Ike Danielson to Randon Baumgartner.

The extra point was missed and it was 13-0 Kirksville.

Mexico’s defense would score the first points for the Bulldogs, when Anthony Shivers intercepted a ball in the end zone and ran it back for 104 yards for a touchdown.

Mexico trailed 13-7.

Kirksville would score once again and take a 21-7 lead into halftime.

Neither team scored in the third quarter.

The Bulldogs would close the deficit to just 7 points on a 46 yard touchdown run from Anthony Shivers with 9:36 left in the fourth quarter.

Kirksville would put the game out of reach on a rushing touchdown with just 3 minutes and 20 seconds left in the game.

Mexico falls to 5-2 and 2-2 in the North Central Missouri Conference.

Up next the Bulldogs will be back at Hawthorne Heights for the final home game of the regular season and it will be Senior Night against the Moberly Spartans
