The Callaway County Sheriff’s Department is reporting the arrest of Auxvasse Police Chief Kevin Suedmeyer on domestic assault charges.
According to a press release from Clay Chism’s office, deputies responded to the Carrington area Tuesday afternoon for a domestic disturbance.
Investigation identified off-duty Suedmeyer as a suspect in an assault involving his son.
Suedmeyer was arrested and charged with fourth degree domestic assault and posted $1,500 bond at the Callaway County Jail.
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office’s domestic violence investigators are continuing the investigation.
The City of Auxvasse released a statement this (Thursday) morning announcing Suedmeyer’s suspension pending the outcome of the investigation and that Officer Robert Harrison has been placed as interim Chief of Police until further notice.
