The Miss Missouri Scholarship Competition continued Thursday night on the campus of Missouri Military Academy. Miss Missouri candidates competed in a second round of preliminary competition in their pursuit to represent the state on the Miss America stage.

The 24 candidates are divided into two competition groups: Sigma and Alpha. Members of the Alpha group performed their talent for the judges last night, with 35% of the candidates’ overall preliminary scores on the line.

For the second straight night, the judges selected the same candidate for both the rookie and overall talent award as they picked Miss Spirit of St. Louis, Clare Marie Kuebler of Wildwood as the winner. Kuebler performed a lyrical dance to “What a Feeling”. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Sigma group competed in their red-carpet looks.

Preliminary competition will continue tonight at MMA when candidates from both groups will conduct their social-impact initiative pitch for the judges and audience. A new Miss Missouri will be crowned Saturday night.
